BUSINESS BRANDING

An overview of what building a brand consists of…

WHAT IS BRANDING?

Branding is defined on Google as:

“The promotion of a particular product or company by means of advertising and distinctive design.”

IT’S SO MUCH MORE.

When someone creates a business, there should always be a purpose for that business, a mission, a goal. Knowing what your mission or purpose is, will help tremendously with properly branding your business. Everything that will ever be associated with your business, or any marketing materials that you produce to promote your business, should clearly give potential consumers a feeling that resonates with the business mission statement. There are a lot of elements to a business that can, and should be “branded” properly…and we’re going to discuss them below.

HOW WILL YOUR BRAND STAND OUT?

WE’RE HERE TO HELP.

BRAND DISCOVERY PHASE

The steps taken to discover and design your new brand.
#1 – YOUR MISSION STATEMENT

Any business should start their branding discovery with a true and heart-felt mission statement. If you’re not sure what your businesses mission statement should be, ask yourself the following questions:

  • What problem is your business solving?
  • What morals or standards does your business operate with?
  • What goals are you trying to achieve with your business?
  • What is your purpose for this business?
  • How can others benefit from your business?

When purchasing a Business Branding Package, we send our clients a quick questionnaire that can be filled out right in their email, with these exact questions, and a few more. From your answers, a strategically constructed mission statement is created for your new business. If you’d like to get started with your Business Branding Discovery Phase, by filling out a questionnaire, click here.

We get it, not everyone is a writer…which is why we include a custom mission statement write-up in our Business Branding Package.

#2 – A MEMORABLE TAG LINE

Now that you know what your mission is with your new business, it’s time to construct a clever tagline to remind the public of what you do, and why you do it. A tagline should be simple, and to the point, but also memorable and “clever”. During your Business Branding discovery phase we begin to construct various taglines based off of your mission statement. Again, we understand that not everyone is a writer, so coming up with a clever tagline can be tricky, which is why we’re here to take that burden off of your shoulders.

“Bringing your vision to life, and raising your bottom line!”

#3 A CUSTOM LOGO DESIGN

Now that you know exactly what your business’s mission is, and you have a catchy tagline to remind the public of that mission, we can begin to focus on your logo design. Your custom logo should portray what your mission statement and tagline says, in a very visually appealing and memorable way. There are a few key elements to a successful logo design that should never be overlooked. A few of those elements are:

  • A balanced design
  • A clear business name
  • A unique aspect or element that ties in with the business/name
  • Appropriate color choices (colors correlate with feelings).
  • Visibility from a distance (very important for a business with an actual location)
  • An even flow of spacing and lines (this, properly done, creates a visual direction for the viewers eyes to follow)
# 4 COLOR PALETTE

Colors play such a huge role psychologically. Studies have shown that colors effect our mood and even influence decision. With that being said, the colors that you choose to associate with your business should be chosen strategically.

When you purchase a Business Branding Package, you will receive a strategically tailored color palette, complete with color codes for each chosen color. Having these colors chosen and knowing the color codes of these specific colors is vital to future brand awareness. You want to always use the exact same colors on all of your present and future marketing materials. Consistently using the same colors will help to increase brand awareness in the public eye. The public will begin to associate your chosen colors with your business, if properly marketed.

#5 IMAGERY MOOD LIBRARY

Now that you have a color palette chosen, it’s time to create a imagery folder of images that have similar tones, or evoke certain feelings that are associated with your mission statement.

With a Business Branding Package purchase you’ll also receive an Imagery Mood Library. This library is a compressed folder containing 20 stock images that match your branding/color palette. These images can be used on marketing materials, social media, and even on your website. Sticking to the chosen style/tones of imagery provided with your Business Branding Package is important for brand awareness. Much like your color palette, if you stick to a specific style/tone of imagery on everything associated with your business, the public will begin to associate that style/tone of imagery with your business.

IT’S ALL ABOUT BRAND AWARENESS.

Below is an example of similar imagery moods that could be used for a diner’s branding:
